Season 1.4 Championship
Corvallis Knights Vs. Bothell Beartic
The PNW Draft League Championship brought the best of the Pokémon world to The Barracks Stadium in Corvallis Oregon. Famous trainers from every region made the trip to watch this once in a lifetime battle. Cynthia from Sinnoh was spotted in a VIP box, likely enticed to see what the Knight’s ace Garchomp could do. N was even rumored to have been sighted in the stands.
The hosting Knights took down the Kirkland Koffing and the Federal Way Pharos in their crusade for a second championship. Grant has been a top threat all season and has been ranked as a top trainer since his championship victory in season 1. On the other end of the battlefield, Kenneth and the Bothell Beartic were ready for everything. They dominated in the postseason, icing out Rival Avery Ballard Bulbasaur and the undefeated Kenmore Air. The Bothell Beartic started the year as a favorite team but split in the rankings each season, entering this season as a middle tier gym.
With the fans booming, the stadium shook as the match began. The Bothell Beartic started off quickly showing the speed of Sneasler but a close end-game ended favoring the home town squad. With a 1-0 lead, the Knights took to the field, seemingly dominating the game. The Knights went up 2 Pokémon but with a double switch-in that ended with Primarina getting a double KO quickly gave the Beartic a chance to change the tide. The rest of the match was a showcase of how dominant the rain-based team was. After the score was tied up 1-1, the match was all but over. From that point forward Kenneth didn’t let up. With a 3-1 win, Kenneth becomes the 4th Champion in the PNW Draft League and regains his position as a top trainer of the league.
The opposing trainers had nothing but positive things to say about their opponents. With both teams making great reads throughout the match, this battle will go down in history as one of the best!
